Postdoc Position at the UZH Social Computing Group

The Social Computing Group at the University of Zurich, headed by Prof. Anikó Hannák, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to lead innovative computational social science projects around the topics of algorithms’ role in societal problems, privacy and fairness on online platforms.

The group’s research focuses on how digitization affects people and society, especially problems that arise due to automated decision-making and algorithms that curate smartphone apps and online platforms.

Beyond conducting research, the responsibilities of the postdoc will involve mentoring ongoing student projects in the lab, as well as teaching an undergraduate course for one semester.

The position is for one year initially, with a possible extension, with a flexible start date (February 2021 at the latest).

Candidates should have a PhD, a strong international publication record, strong programming skills, and experience with unstructured data and statistical/ML models.
