Funding Request to the IMI

With digitization, traditional media companies are going through a transition phase that will prove decisive for their future.

To help them, the IMI supports applied, experimental, multidisciplinary and exploratory research projects, which can last from a few months to a maximum of 3 years, by granting funding that in principle should not exceed CHF 120,000 per year and per project. Such projects must involve and be coordinated by at least one of the IMI affiliated universities, and require a partnership to be built with at least one of the IMI media members. External collaborations, including international ones, are encouraged.

By supporting research projects, the IMI intends to defend the principle of applied research allowing for media partners to carry on their digital transformation and their quest for sustainable solutions, and for scientific institutions to pursue novel research in their domains.

Grant applications are reviewed twice a year with next submission deadlines on 15 April 2020- 17:00 (and 15 October 2020- 17:00)

For more information, including the full terms of participation, submission process, evaluation criteria and timeline, please refer to the following document which is available in English or French.
